My Visit to Camp Toast... and Basset Fun Day!

I'm a little late in posting, but my foster mom had computer problems (don't ya just hate it when that happens??). Anyways, here are some pix from my fantabulous visit at Camp Toast...

I was truly honored to woof at the home of the famous Melba Toast. I even tried on the Forever Queen Melba's bahroootiful blue hat!! (I'm very in touch with my feminine side.)

At first, I rested up with Sir Boxer since I had to save my strength for Basset Fun Day! Then I hung out with Beauty! What a perfect name for her, huh! I had to whisper sweet nothings in her ear (she's not really a basset, but she's a great friend to us houndies!)

FINALLY, the big day arrived! BASSET FUN DAY! YAY! I was an honored guest -- see mom!

I got donations for my cause from the friendly folks at Basset Fun Day because my new bestest friend Gail is a senior and she told everyone my story. Gail is the greatest!!

So many poor hounds have been helped... and so many more will be helped by Basset Rescue of Puget Sound! Hurrah for Auntie Alexa!!!

After a long, tiring day of raising money for the poor hounds, Yola Bean and I stretch out for a little R&R! They sure were right -- it was a FUN day for bassets (and basset people)!

In Transit... and in the Dark

Well... I'm off again. Headed south to the Golden Gate Basset Rescue 4th of July Waddle in Novato, California, next week. My former foster mom Sandy tucked me into my traveling crate and sent me off on Friday. Initially, the nice lady at the Post Office was shocked to hear that Sandy was mailing a dog (she shrieked and startled everyone waiting in line, "You can't mail a dog!"). Once she realized that I am a very "special" pup, she relaxed. So now I'm here... in the dark... enjoying a little nap time and quiet contemplation until I arrive. [Yawn.]

Fan Photos from Basset Fun Day

I'm proud to have attended Basset Fun Day -- to benefit Basset Rescue of Puget Sound -- on Saturday, and boy did I have F*U*N!!

They had a special welcome table just for me!! With a collection jar and everything! I was SOOOO honored!

And I met the Stevenson Family Circus -- from left to right, you can see Cookie, Samantha(Sammi), Winston, Elmo and of course their mom, Julie. They're my friends!!!

More Friends & Farewell to Malden

I met some kewl canines while visiting with Krissy's mom. She has two pit bulls who are big smoochie teddy bears! Kaia was a real sweetie, and Honey gave me a big kiss! The ladies do love me, you know!

I'm not sure Amber the Chihuahua was as smitten with me... but Krissy's mom, Brenda, thought I was pretty sweet! So naturally I had to give her a kiss!

I'm going to miss everyone here in Malden, Missouri! But a waddling woofer must wander!

Father's Day

I had a GREAT Father's Day (0kay, I'm not a father, but I still had a blast)!

I played X-box 360 with Chris for a while. He even let me win a time or two. It was exhausting work -- so we had a snooze! Then we went to a bar-b-que at my foster grandma's house --
in a word, it was YUMM!

Then my foster uncle Bobby let me try out his police gear... that was very kewl! I met some kewl canines too -- but that will have to wait til my next entry.

A Warm Wal-Mart Welcome

I had such a fun time meeting all the nice folks at Wal-Mart. I met three boys who were SUPER-friendly! I bet they'd love to have a plush pup like me at home!

My foster mom Krissy has some very friendly co-workers. They took great care of me -- and she got to tell them all about my mission at their employee meeting. I felt very special!

A Woofer as Wal-Mart Trainee...

Everyone knows I'm a hard-workin' hound... but I REALLY worked hard on my trip to Wal-Mart! My foster mom Krissy works there, so she recruited me to help on her shift.

First I got my name badge... Look Mom, I'm a management trainee! Aren't you proud?!

Then I had to do my new-hire training on the computer. Once I completed training, I helped my foster mom Krissy at the register in Electronics.

There was a LOT of freight to be put on the shelves. I even learned to mix paint!

When it was time for my break, I grabbed a cold drink and then I hit the pet section for a little nap! I was in hound heaven with all the toys!

Once break was over, it was back to straightening the shelves.

After a long shift, I got a frosty paw and a cool drink from McDonalds on the way home.

It was a BUSY day! I met SO many great people. And they all wanted their picture taken with me! But I'll have to share those tomorrow, a plush pup needs his rest you know.

A Woofin' Good Time

My new foster family is great!! They know how much I like to go for rides in the car.

On our trip to breakfast at a local place called Jen's Diner, my foster dad, Chris, let me drive! I had some healthy OJ first... But then I had to hit the donut case!!! Yum!

When we got home, I helped fold the laundry... Then I found my foster mom Krissy's jewelry box and tried on a little bling! She told me we were going outside to play ball with Sophia and Riley, so I grabbed a nearby visor (Krissy's old Malden Softball visor)! I wanted to make sure I was ready to "play ball"!

My Foster Family

The best part about arriving at any new foster family's house is meeting the waggers... Riley said "Hi!" to me first! Then it was Sophia's turn. Then they double-teamed me! After that, I met this funny looking hound in a little cage... hmmm...!

All of this excitement is enough to wear out a boy. So it was time for a little nap. I found that Sophia is a nice cuddler! But I couldn't play favorites, so I had a nap with Riley too. They're awesome foster sisters! Turn off the computer light on your way out, please!
