My Camp Toast Family

The Camp Toast gang were a BLAST! And they really welcomed me into the clan! I learned a lot (maybe too much?)!

Giddy up Beauty!

Whoooooops!

Wow -- nice landing huh?

Here I am with Toshi Teriyaki!

Toshi and Yola Bean!

Toshi Teriyaki Tabletop Entertainment!
Hmmm, I'm not sure my mom would want me table dancing.
But hey, if you say it will make money for the poor
houndies, I'll give it a try (that's my story and I'm sticking to it).

Sir Boxer was my buddy!
He told me all about living at Camp Toast
and being 14 and having the most bootiful
houndie girlfriend, Pw. Brandy!

I like Camp Toast!!! A basset could retire in comfort here!

A Plush Pup at Pike Place Market

There are so many exciting sites here in Seattle!!! I got to visit Pike Place Market. This is the world-famous fresh fish company where fishmongers toss the fishies to entertain the tourists!

Auntie Linda holds me up so everyone can see me.

I'm a basset, not a fish! Don't toss ME!

I handed out my cards to the nice folks there!

In addition to fish, they sell Wendell-size donuts!

So of course I had to sample some -- it was only pawlite!

My Visit to Auntie Alexa's

Naturally, I had to visit with Auntie Alexa and tour around Woodinville, WA, while I was here.

Here I am with a lovely senior hound named Daisy.
I woofed that any place with a statue of a basset on main street
must be a great place to live!!

Daisy lives with Auntie Alexa and Uncle J.P.
Auntie Alexa is the boss of Basset Rescue of Puget Sound.
She's been taking in poor hounds for more than 30 years.

I got to meet some of the other nice seniors at Auntie Alexa's too.

Hey, I was in radio too for a while!
How many stations do you get?

Careful -- I'm ticklish!

I fit right in with the gang!

I even got to ride on ole Rusty!

Paging Dr. Wendell

Well, I was such a hit on the radio that MercyVet asked me to come and help with surgery!

Look mom! I'm Wendell McWoofy!

WUFR -- Wendell, the Radio Star!

Who knew I was a radio star!
This is my buddy Gary, getting ready for the Animal World show!

He really showed me the ropes!

My foster mom Sandy and I shared a mike...
she's a great co-host! She held me up so I could
woof to the folks out there in radio land, right
Auntie Suz and Auntie Norma?!

My foster mom Sandy said I could have my own show!
Who knew I could be so woofie!

My Visit to Camp Toast... and Basset Fun Day!

I'm a little late in posting, but my foster mom had computer problems (dontcha just hate it when that happens??). Anyways, here are some pix from my fantabulous visit at Camp Toast...

See, it's official!!

I was truly honored to woof at the home of
the famous Melba Toast.
I even tried on the Forever Queen Melba's
bahroootiful blue hat!! (I'm very in touch
with my feminine side.)

At first, I rested up with Sir Boxer...
had to save my strength for Basset Fun Day!

This is Beauty! What a perfect name for her, huh!
I had to whisper sweet nothings in her ear
(she's not really a basset, but she's a great
friend to us houndies!)

FINALLY, the big day arrived! BASSET FUN DAY! YAY!

I was an honored guest -- see mom!

Look how much great stuff they had!

I got donations for my cause from the
friendly folks at Basset Fun Day
because my new bestest friend Gail is a senior
and she told everyone my story.
Gail is the greatest!!

So many poor hounds have been helped...
and so many more will be helped
by Basset Rescue of Puget Sound!
Hurrah for Auntie Alexa!!!

Look at the buffet!!! YUMMM!!

Everyone had fun -- bellyrubs for all!

Look -- it's King Bob the Dog!!
He's kewl!

After a long, tiring day of raising money
for the poor hounds, Yola Bean and I
stretch out for a little R&R!
They sure were right -- it was a FUN day for bassets
(and basset people)!

In Transit... and in the Dark

Well... I'm off again. Headed south to the Golden Gate Basset Rescue 4th of July Waddle in Novato, California, next week. My former foster mom Sandy tucked me into my traveling crate and sent me off on Friday. Initially, the nice lady at the Post Office was shocked to hear that Sandy was mailing a dog (she shrieked and startled everyone waiting in line, "You can't mail a dog!"). Once she realized that I am a very "special" pup, she relaxed. So now I'm here... in the dark... enjoying a little nap time and quiet contemplation until I arrive. [Yawn.]
